  Last time I went to the ASSembly hall in Montreal summer of 2015 as a last ditch effort to possibly start up again I promptly had a panic attack as I listened to a middle aged couple being interviewed. It was truly a gut wrenching experience as I just got up and ran out before passing out. Went to bathroom to splash some cold Montreal city water on my face. I knew then I was done, the end..

  Never set foot in any JW facility after that, your body is telling you something.

  Door-to-door preaching as surveillance

  i wanted to share some thoughts about jehovah's witnesses and their door-to-door preaching.

  door-to-door preaching is supposedly about gathering converts, but in fact, as we frequently discuss, doesn't actually bring that many "sheep-like ones" in.

  i want to suggest that a second meaning (what we call the latent meaning in academia) is facilitating surveillance of the congregants who attend some congregation.

  Hehe, they were in my area yesterday morning. Was in kitchen at the sink looking at them through the window as they were being ignored on my neighbours doorstep, then when they turned away the man who was with his wife and child turned and looked directly at my house and I although being at least 75 ft away though the tress separating our lots. CAUGHT SPYING !! Then 5 mins lalter as I was turning out from my street ( hoping to run into said spy's.. ) I noticed a minivan down the street with a woman clutching a magazine getting in. She froze for a second and stared at me as I pulled out. Was really tempted to drive right by them in the opposite direction and stop just because hehe. They both seemed aware of me, probably because I'm a known DA or even gasp ! : Apostate !!!!!!!

  I remember reading that in your New Boy series Keith good stuff ! I would think that the kid had good intentions and wanted to make his own contribution somehow but probably being more freethinking than most pick-ed up the bad vibes and cult persona of his would to be bosses real quick. As usual thanks for posting looking forward to your book. Have ordered Barbara's last week anxious to get it.

  Over eating v over drinking

  when i was in, i couldn't understand why the subject of over eating or gluttony was almost never discussed, there was countless talks and articles about over drinking but over eating is lumped in as the same offence in the bible but was never discussed?

  an elder who was serving in the islands told me he heard a talk given by a local in the cong there who professed that "in the new system we can eat as much as we want and not get fat".

  so why was /is it not talked about?

  I've 'studied' with an elder that would make himself these HUGE honking triple decker pickle sandwiches smothered in mayonnaise. This of course was done halfway through the study AFTER I had already stayed there for supper.. ( they were racking up the hours off my back ) Kind of guy that would go back for a second fully loaded plate. Was truly something to behold, never seen anything like it not even in 'the world' so to speak.

  The supper and sandwich binge evening was the last one there for me, I peeled out really pissed after !

  Him and his wife were / are obese. Once went in service with them in my MK2 Jetta and they filled the whole car, pretty gross hehe
